Update as of May 2026. My EP project mentioned n the last post was off to a good start. 4 decent song ideas were recorded during a 2 week trip in fall of last year, as planned, in a cool recording room I had available where I was staying. I added them into Reaper to start developing them, but within weeks of returning home, that laptop was dead and all the data on it lost- the audio files, and more importantly the first few pages of one of my assignments for grad school. The scramble to recreate that assignment in time for submission, the birth of my second child, and the need to focus on work and school (not to mention a bout of pneumonia) meant that EP project was shelved until now. With another trip coming up this fall and an assignment-free summer looming, I plan to revisit this project and finish it. If I can finish it by my next trip, I’ll release it and use those two weeks to write a few more songs. If not, I’ll use that trip to finish expand this EP.
No big updates on SSF- a couple of previous contributors have expressed interest in another volume. I may resurrect the project if I can get this little EP project finished.
